Following Your Dreams

People tell you all the time that when you have kids your dreams die. I don’t think that’s true. In fact, I think it gives you more drive to be an inspiration.

I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life until Trent was six years old. I worked at a corporate job where I felt my soul dying every single day. I could have decided to stay there because it was giving me the income I needed to take care of me and Trent but I decided I wanted more. I wanted more for myself and for Trent.

I took a huge leap of faith and went full time doing something I was passionate about last year. Trent got to witness the entire process. I was no longer staying late at the office working on a project I would forget about in a couple weeks.

I never want my child to think he has to settle or set his happiness aside. I want him to work hard and chase his dreams. Don’t ever think for a second that YOU have to set your happiness aside. If you want to go back to school DO IT. If you want to start a business DO IT. No matter what your dream is, work to show your kids it’s possible instead of teaching them to give up when it gets hard. Let’s create a generation of dreamers and go getters.

I want to live in a world where people aren’t selling their souls to survive. Anything is possible.

Cheers,
