Holiday Light Displays

Chippewa Valley Parade of Lights: There’s something truly magical about holiday lights. Just pouring a cup of hot chocolate, getting in the car with your family and driving around town looking at homes decked out in holiday lights brings so much joy to the heart. This year, the Eau Claire Parks and Recreation Department took this holiday tradition to the next level by creating the Chippewa Valley Parade of Lights. Each participating address will be included on a map and have its own yard sign displayed from December 1-31, 2022 that indicates they are a part of the parade. So, fill up the gas tank and crank the holiday tunes because it’s certainly the most wonderful time of the year in Eau Claire!

Irvine Park Christmas Village: The Chippewa Falls Christmas Village, in beautiful Irvine Park, is an impressive display of life size Christmas scenes reminiscent of the Victorian era and local historical replicas. It is set up during the holiday season along with a dazzling display of over 60,000 lights. Open from November 24th – January 1st, Monday -Sunday 7 am – 9:30 pm.

Snowmobiling

If there is one thing that you can depend on getting in Eau Claire in the winter, it’s a nice, thick blanket of snow. Eau Claire’s snowmobile trail system travels through 181 miles of oak ridges, pine stands, and rolling hills of farmland. Our trail system also links to our adjacent counties if you’re looking to cruise beyond Eau Claire.

  • For trail conditions, take a look at the Snow Conditions Report from Travel Wisconsin and print out a trail map to take with you. If you’re ready to ride, strap on your helmet and snow boots and head out there before the snow melts (don’t worry, you’ve got quite some time).

Sledding

Snow covered hills means there are sleds racing down the slopes in Eau Claire! Grab your snow pants and sleds and enjoy a winter afternoon of pure snowy fun on the sledding hills!

Cross Country Skiing & Snowshoeing

Eau Claire has plenty of trails that are made just for winter recreation. You can glide through Tower Ridge on your skis or bring your snowshoes for walk at Lowes Creek. Wherever you go, enjoy the beautiful snowy scenes that winter brings to Eau Claire.

Fat Tire Biking

Eau Claire offers miles of bike trails year-round. When winter comes to town, some trails are groomed and ready for the fat tire biking enthusiasts out there. Get outside and enjoy the crisp winter air!

Winter Kubb

Kubb is Eau Claire’s favorite lawn game, after all, Eau Claire is the Kubb Capital of North America! So, who’s to say some snow is going to stop us from playing this game? Grab a group of friends and lay out your Kubb pitch at some of our favorite parks in the area like River Prairie, Pinehurst Park, or Phoenix Park!

Theater

Pablo Center

The Pablo Center is always bustling with people coming to experience a variety of events and this holiday season there’s a multitude to see! Zach Williams’: I Don’t Want Christmas to End and A Motown Christmas will be held in December. Along with the Danu: An Emerald Isle Christmas show and Chris Kroeze! Check out the Pablo Center event calendar to get more information!
