Country Jam Survival Guide

Country Jam is a boot-scootin’ good time, and we want you to have the best time ever, even if it’s your first time. We’ve wrangled up some of the best tips for Country Jam first-timers and veterans.

Bring the Essentials

Don’t forget to bring all the things that will make your experience great. Sunscreen to slather on in the hot Wisconsin sun, hearing protection if you don’t want your ears to ring, a refillable water bottle to use at the refill station, wipes for sticky beer hands, whatever it may be. Mainly the sunscreen – you don’t want to be burned to a crisp on the first day.

Don’t Bring…

It’s important to know what not to bring. No pets are allowed, and don’t bring any glass, weapons, or fireworks. There is also a bag policy – you’ll be safe with a clutch or a clear bag, but don’t bring any backpacks or large purses in. Check out this visual:

Know the Rules

As with any large gathering of party people, there are a few rules. Keep in mind that quiet time from 2am to 8am will be enforced, and don’t bring in any carry-in food or beverage. Check the FAQs at the Country Jam website.

Know the Shower Schedule

Aah, camping showers. Keep in mind that the Country Jam showers are open 6a,-10pm daily, with closed cleaning times from 12-2pm and 5-7pm. Try to pick a time when it’s not too busy.

Drink Water

It gets pretty hot out there, so don’t drink only dehydrating drinks. Grab a water between rounds, and maybe a sports drink to replenish electrolytes. Hydration is key to having fun at a festival.

Don’t Miss Your Favorite Acts

Don’t enjoy too many beverages before the headliners come out, or you might miss them! Pace yourself and remember to eat.

Dress Thoughtfully

Dress in whatever you’re comfortable in. Wear a poncho if it’s going to rain, as umbrellas are not allowed. And don’t forget to don those cowboy boots!

Bring the Right Friends

Choose your crew wisely – that one college friend may be fun at home, but if they tend to get a little unpredictable after a few drinks, they might not be the best Country Jam buddy. Don’t end up babysitting while Tim McGraw plays.
