Outfit Inspiration and Trends For Your 2023-2024 Wardrobe

Hey everyone, it’s Meg Ann Lee. I put up a poll on my Instagram to ask what you wanted to see from me. The top voted category was hair tips, which I posted about last week and second was outfit inspiration.

So, this week we are discussing the clues about upcoming trends we are seeing from the red carpets, where to shop and how you can incorporate them into your everyday style!

Sustainable Fashion

In today’s world it seems like fashion trends are being recycled every day it’s hard to say no to “fast fashion” brands. Yet, sustainability remains a major trend this year and I foresee it staying into 2024 (and each year after I hope). Now, in my grandpa’s logic he would say, “The most sustainable fashion is wearing what you already have.” And he would be right. Even though this post is about fashion trends and shopping you can recycle looks from your closet or do a closet trade with friends to generate some new inspiration.

If you are looking for new items but still want to remain shopping sustainably here are some shops to check out:

Vintage Revival

Vintage-inspired fashion is making a comeback. I think this will, in some way, always be a fashion trend because it makes a statement when you wear clothing from a different era. If you’re not a thrifter brands like Reformation, Free People and Urban Outfitters offer styles like high-waisted jeans, floral dresses, and oversized blazers that emulate styles from past generations.  If you ARE a thrifter check out these thrifting blogs:

Tailored & Structured

We are seeing a comeback in tailored suits and blazers. If the professional vibe isn’t for you try mixing up your casual clothes with these tailored pieces. For example, a jogger and sneakers with a tube top and blazer. I’m seeing this look so much from our IG influencer girlies.

Elevated Ballet-core

This doesn’t mean tutus and pink tights. However, tulle skirts are everywhere tight now. Think more like sheer material, bodysuits, ballet flats, and feminine detailing. We saw a TON of sheer outfits hit the red carpet for the VMAS.

Bohemian Vibes

Boho-inspired fashion is BACK. Personally, I feel like this aesthetic never truly goes out of style because it’s also tied in with a lifestyle. We are seeing a lot of flowy dresses, comfy onesies, crochet tops, and fringe accessories. Retailers like Free People and Zara are a must shop.

I hope this inspired you to go through your closet, mix and match styles you already own and maybe incorporate a new trend you haven’t tried yet <3
