Raspberry White Chocolate Scone/4:30 AM Coffeehouse

My timing has never quite worked to get to the 4:30 AM Coffeehouse. Ironic — or apropos — considering that there is a time in their name. Rather, *my* timing never worked to get there. Alas, the timing was right on a recent autumn day (with perhaps some of the best Chippewa Valley fall colors I have ever seen adorning the hills around Chippewa Falls). Coffee and a scone, and, man, was that scone good.

The raspberry and the white chocolate is staring right at you.

Their scones have gotten a lot of pub — perhaps you have had one. When I pulled up to the drive-thru window, I asked for the recommended scone, and was suggested the raspberry white chocolate option. Sold.

Inside the scone.

This was a nice, soft scone, with a great balance of raspberry tartness and subtle hints of white chocolate chunkiness. It really is the scone ideal. The following speaks to the high quality of the 4:30 AM Coffeehouse scone: my wife cannot stand white chocolate, but upon having a bite, she said that if she *did* like white chocolate, she would love the flavor.

There is a lot more to get there: coffee cake, muffins, plus savory options. And, of course, the coffee. Really, through, you must try the scones. Heck, get a scone with every order of anything else you get. There were five flavors the day I went, so make your choice of whatever looks good. Just make sure you have your timing down — a trip to the 4:30 AM Coffeehouse is totally worth the time.
