Local Holiday Concerts in the 715

Holiday cheer is spreading throughout the Chippewa Valley, and local organizations and schools are putting on holiday concerts to further spread the joy of the festive season. If you are into holiday music and beautiful singing and instrumentals, visit one or more of these concerts to really get into the holiday spirit and enjoy the gifts that our community offers.

Songs of the Season Choir Concert

Memorial High School

Monday, Dec. 11th at 7 p.m.

Memorial High School Auditorium

Performances by the Memorial Madrigals, Concert Choir, Mixed Choir, and Treble Choir.  The concert will conclude with the Memorial tradition of current students and alum singing Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus.

Messiah Singalong

UW-Eau Claire Voice & Choral Activities and Chippewa Valley Voices

Thursday, December 14th at 6:30 p.m.

Haas Fine Arts Center at UW-Eau Claire

Singalongs of Handel’s Messiah are a beloved tradition across the world. At these events, “The Audience is the Chorus!” Whether singing or listening, all participants sit together in the audience facing the conductor, soloists, and pianist onstage. Singers, family, friends, all are welcome! Participants are encouraged to bring their own Messiah scores if possible*; a limited number of scores will be available to borrow.

Christmas Choir Concert

Regis High School and Middle School

Monday, December 18 at 7:00pm

Father Dowd Auditorium at Regis High School

Highlights will include many familiar Christmas carols and songs sung by each of the three choirs, and an audience sing-along of “Silent Night” at the end of the concert.

Winter Concert

Elk Mound High School

Tuesday, December 19th at 7:00pm

Elk Mound High School Gymnasium

This concert features both band and choir.  Choir Highlights: We will be singing the song Sleigh Bells arranged by Earlene Rentz, which features the choir singing over 300 repetitions of the words Jing, Ring, Ling, Sing, etc.  The Elk Mound Madrigal Singers will sing after the concert in the commons where we will have a small reception of treats for audience members.

3rd Annual Sounds Of The Season Concert

North High School

Thursday, December 21 at 7 p.m.

NHS Auditorium

Free admission, with a free-will donation to benefit NHS music scholarship fund.  Featuring jazz band pre-show, concert and chamber choirs, wind ensemble, and symphony orchestra.
