Parade of Homes Celebrating 50 Years

The 50th Year of the Parade of Homes is happening June 8-15th, and this is your chance to see beautiful new and remodeled homes to get inspiration for your own, check out new design trends, and talk to area builders and remodelers about your next home or remodeling project.

We are excited that this event has been happening for 50 years! It started only 3 years after our Association started and is our first and oldest signature event to showcase the talent of area builders and allow the public to get inspired for their next dream home,” says Christina Thrun, Executive Officer at the Chippewa Valley Home Builders Association.

There will be 11 new homes, two remodels, and 2 virtual homes open for touring. The in-person new homes will be open Saturday and Sunday 10am-5pm, and Monday through Friday 5-9pm, and the virtual homes will be able to be viewed online with your ticket number starting June 8th. The remodels will be open on June 8th, 9th, and 10th. The homes are located as far north as Lake Hallie, and as far south as Eleva. They range from $279,000 to over $1 million in price.

It’s going to be a great time! There will be food trucks at some of the homes on June 8th and 9th, including pizza, BBQ, donuts, and superfoods.

There’s also a gold coin hunt, which can be turned in for a swag bag, with some including a $100 Scheels gift card! Find a gold coin at any of the homes on Monday through Friday, and turn it in at the desk to receive your prize. You can also participate in the People’s Choice voting and get a chance to win $100 – this year, there will be category voting, such as best kitchen, best use of space, best landscaping, best overall new home, and best remodel.

You can also win $100 by completing the scavenger hunt, during which you’ll be looking for unique features like a custom dog feeding station, Cambria shower, a floating master vanity, and more.

Some of the trends this year are darker colors in walls and cabinetry, curves in design, feature walls, luxury plank and vinyl tile flooring, Quartz countertops, and two-tone siding.

A historical note: Jerry Pabich, one of the founders of the event and the Chippewa Valley Home Builders Association, has a son and grandson that are showcasing a home in this year’s Parade of Homes, as Pabich Homes!
