Dan’s Playbook of Thoughts – Well Done, Green Bay
Fresh off of being back from the NFL Draft in Green Bay, here’s a few quick thoughts that I’ve been thinking about lately!
- Being in Green Bay for the NFL Draft exceeded all of my expectations and then some. I had some doubts on whether the city of Green Bay had the proper infrastructure to host such a huge event and they and the team did an absolute fantastic job. I thought going in this would be a one and done event for Green Bay. Now, I wouldn’t be surprised if its back.
- Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy is retiring in July and over the years, he’s gotten some grief from Packers fans. Whether he made the proper hiring’s or firings or if that team got too “corporate” But the reality is, Mark Murphy has done a tremendous job leading the Packers over the years. From the development of Titletown, to going through two quarterback break-ups with Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers, to now getting the draft in Green Bay. The man deserves a ton of thanks from Packers fans.
- Speaking of thanks, is it time for Milwaukee Bucks fans to start saying “Thanks for the memories, Giannis”? The Milwaukee Bucks season is officially over with and we are now in an offseason with major question marks. I would argue that this offseason is the most pivotal in franchise history. Should the Bucks start a rebuild that includes trading the best player in franchise history in Giannis? Should they still try to build around him? What about a new head coach? Major and franchise defining questions surrounding the Bucks this offseason.
- Yes, the Bucks should find a new head coach. And I totally disagree with giving their general manager, Jon Horst, a contract extension.
- The Milwaukee Brewers are hovering around .500 ball through the first month of the season and given all the injuries they have suffered to the starting pitching staff, I think a lot of fans should be happy with that. Let’s just hope that when everyone returns healthy, they can climb their way back up into first place in the standings.
