A Guide to Homecoming Happenings in Eau Claire

Welcome back to Eau Claire, alumni! Homecoming is upon us and you’re back in your old stomping grounds to celebrate with the newest of Blugolds as well as the ones you’ve known since you graduated. There’s plenty going on while you’re here in Eau Claire, so let’s explore some ideas on what you can get up to while you’re here.

Homecoming is the main attraction, so what’s all happening? Well, the Homecoming Parade is at 10am on October 7th on Lake Street and First Avenue. The parade will be running from the Government Center to Lake Street, to First Avenue and Chippewa Street. Then, the Blugold Fever Fest at Carson Park will be all fun and games! There will be food trucks onsite, the marching band will be playing, and there will be merch for sale (keep in mind it’s cash or check only). Then the game! The Homecoming game is at 1:10pm, and it’ll be UW-Eau Claire Blugolds vs. UW River Falls Falcons. You can purchase tickets here

That’s not all you can get up to while you’re in Eau Claire. Maybe you’ll want to revisit all the bars you used to visit, whether it be The Pickle, Brothers, Shenanigan’s, or the Grand Illusion. Bust a move, grab a drink, and play some pool with college alumni and students, old and new.

If you’re not looking to revisit those fateful college memories at the Water Street bars, check out some of the other downtown bars in Eau Claire. The Lakely is a great place to grab a classy cocktail and enjoy some jazz. The Dive is another more high-class bar with great drinks and an awesome outdoor ambiance.

Check out the Night Corn Maze at Leffel Roots (bring a flashlight!), or the glass-blown art sale at The Glass Orchard.

You can also check out all of the new installations downtown, part of the Downtown Eau Claire Sculpture Tour. Since you’ve been here you might’ve noticed there’s a few more – this year they added about 85! If you’d like to read more about it, here’s a link.

There’s so much to do in Eau Claire, and it’s probably changed a bunch since you last visited. Party hard, stay safe, and enjoy Homecoming weekend!
